Tucson Plant Materials CenterEstablished 1935

The Tucson Plant Materials Center has provided plant solutions for the unique environment of the Sonoran, Chihuahuan, and Mohave deserts for the past 68 years. The Center works on issues ranging from wildfire rehabilitation, mining reclamation and riparian improvement to low water landscaping and improved range forage production. The Center has released a variety of conservation shrubs and grasses including ‘Santa Rita’ fourwing saltbush, ‘Loetta’ Arizona cottontop, and ‘Stevan’ plains bristlegrass.
