The Upper Colorado Environmental Plant Center in Meeker, Colorado finds
conservation solutions for the diverse landscape of the High Plains. The Center
is working on projects that help stabilize mine spoils and roadsides, improve
grazing lands in the cold desert, restore riparian zones, and improve water
quality on agricultural and industrial lands. The Center has released a dozen
conservation plants including Garnet Germplasm mountain brome, ‘Hobble Creek’
big sagebrush and ‘Maybell Source’ antelope bitterbrush.
