Discontinued Conservation Plant Releases
The Plant Materials Program strives to maintain the most effective plants for natural resource conservation activities. The Program officially discontinues plant releases which have met their useful life for conservation work. Reasons for discontinuing a plant release might be that the plant has been replaced by newer, more effective materials, there is is little or no commercial production or no demand from commercial growers, or the plant has become or has the potential to become invasive. Discontinued plant releases are no longer produced by the Plant Materials Program. In most cases, the plant release has been removed from NRCS conservation practice standards and is no longer recommended for conservation activities.
